The stories of us!

Often we think of history as boring eh?! Memorizing dates of things that happened long, long ago. Grey haired folks looking at black and white photos. It can feel kind of distant from our current lives.

That why I so enjoy our Red Rock Historical Society! We’re constantly bringing our history to life. Whether it’s mischievous secrets being unveiled, precious connections being discovered or having old style events like community winter sliding and summer baseball, we’re once again bringing us together for laughter and fun.

This month the Historical Society is celebrating the Red Rock Fish & Game Club with a display at the Rec Centre. It’s a reminder that our Fish & Game Club is very active. Hosting fishing derbies for all ages in all seasons, putting on hunting safety courses, like the PAL certification coming in November, and creating a fun place for connecting, with corn hole tournaments and socials. The Fish & Game Club is such a gift to our community, and our neighbouring communities too!

Red Rock is special for so many reasons. Today I’m thankful for the way that we support and celebrate each other.

GRAB YOUR BALL GLOVE!
Hey when's the last time you biked over to the diamond and played a pick-up game of ball with your friends? It's been a while for me too.
We live in Red Rock 'cause we're a bunch of good-hearted, fun-loving folks who know how to enjoy ourselves.
So let's meet up THIS COMING TUESDAY at the Dunville ballfield and play baseball together.
All ages...from speedy young whippersnappers, and playful parents, to grey haired story-tellers. There's room for all of us.
Nip-Rock High is lending us their balls and bats...thanks! The Township of Red Rock is providing and prepping the field...so appreciated! Us at the Red Rock Historical Society will have a couple of coolers full of ice cold free drinks to keep us energized.
Mark your calendar with "FUN!" on TUESDAY, JULY 28TH...6:00 TO 8:00 p.m.
Cheering fans are oh so welcomed!
