I’m absolutely in love with this project. It took about a month to complete all seven paintings. Some skies came together so easily, while others took multiple attempts to get the gradients and light feeling just right. I even practiced with watercolour pencil crayons first to work out blending techniques without making the colours muddy or overworked.
Every piece taught me something different, and honestly, that was part of the fun. I wanted the paintings to feel almost like looking through a photograph or catching a moment outside in real life.
Finding frames ended up being its own challenge too, so I 3D printed custom frames that give them a soft Polaroid-style look while holding the paintings at the corners. An unexpected bonus is that the backs stay open enough for sunlight to shine through, which makes the colours glow even more in natural light.
These are available for purchase $50 each (frame included). They are 3”x”3 original paintings. Each one is one of a kind.
