WE’RE LOOKING FOR ACTORS!

FRIGHT AT THE MUSEUM — OCTOBER 23 & 24
Do you love Halloween? Are you creative, outgoing, and ready to get into character? Maybe you’ve always wanted to be a ghost, ghoul, witch, zombie, creepy shopkeeper… or something even scarier!

We need YOU to help bring Fort la Reine Museum to life after dark!
👻 WE HAVE TWO TIME SLOTS — AND WE NEED ACTORS FOR BOTH! 6pm - 11pm

FAMILY TIME
A fun, spooky experience for families and younger visitors. Think friendly ghosts, witches, silly monsters, storytelling and Halloween fun — spooky, but not too scary!

SCARE TIME
This is where things get SERIOUSLY spooky!
The lights go down, the characters come out, and our historic buildings become truly haunted. We’re looking for people who are ready to creep, scare, startle and stay in character!

No acting experience necessary!
We’ll help you develop your character and give you ideas to work with. Whether you’re a natural performer or you've never acted before, we want you!

You could be:
🧙‍♀️ A witch
👻 A ghost
🧟 A zombie
💀 A skeleton
😈 A creepy character
🏚️ A haunted resident
🎭 A mysterious stranger..or create your own terrifying character!

You can volunteer for Family Time, Scare Time, or BOTH!
This is a FUNdraiser supporting the rebuild of our Trading Post, so you’ll be helping create an amazing new event while supporting the future of Fort la Reine Museum.

Desirée Orvis’ love of country music is deeply rooted in her hometown of Kinosota, Manitoba, where she grew up in a musical family and learned to sing and play guitar from an early age.

With a powerful and unforgettable voice, Desirée brings both classic and modern country favourites to life!

And she’ll be sharing the stage with Métis country artist Brandi Vezina for a special evening of acoustic music in our beautiful historic setting.

It’s hard to believe the 2026 summer season is over!

As we wrap up another amazing season, we want to take a moment to recognize our incredible summer staff who worked so hard all season long.

A huge THANK YOU to Kenna, MacKenzie and Alexis for everything you’ve done for Fort la Reine Museum! We know you’re done for the season… but you’ll be back!

And of course, a HUGE thank you to our Programming Manager, Caitlyn, our Fundraising Manager, Cindy, and our Coffee Master, Nancy!

The last couple of weeks were especially crazy, and we honestly couldn’t have pulled off FOUR events in just two weeks without your hard work, dedication and willingness to jump in wherever you were needed.

Missing from the picture is our small but mighty group of volunteers who helped make it all happen. You are such an important part of the Fort la Reine family!

To our summer staff — good luck with your new adventures this fall! We’re excited to see what’s next for you, and we hope you know there will always be a place for you at the Fort.

WOW. JUST WOW.

We are completely overwhelmed by the support for our very first Fort at Night Market!

What an incredible night! The Fort was buzzing, and seeing so many people come out to support us, our vendors, and the museum was absolutely amazing.

And yes… Cain is exhausted.
Honestly, so are the rest of us!

Our 6 staff and 5 incredible volunteers worked their butts off to make this event happen, and we couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished together.

WOW. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who came out, shopped, ate, drank, explored, and supported our first-ever Night Market.

Thank you to our 49 amazing vendors for taking a chance on our first event and helping make it such a success.

And a huge thank you to our staff and volunteers — you are the heart of this museum.

We may all be exhausted tonight, but our hearts are FULL.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!

The wait is over — it’s finally time for our FIRST EVER Fort at Night Market!

📸 This picture was taken last night at the museum, and if this is any indication, we’re in for another gorgeous evening at the Fort!

We’ve got 49 amazing vendors, delicious food, cold drinks in the beer gardens, pop-up tattoos & piercings, cozy fires, puppies , shopping, and SO much more!

There really is something for everyone!
