REMINDER: Free to play will be going ahead tomorrow (September 2nd) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM! This week, we’ll be making cyanotypes!

THIS WEEKS SESSION IS FULLY BOOKED! Thank you to everyone who has registered and has shown interest in our Free to Play events. If your interested in registering your child for future Free to Play events, visit zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/free-to-play

UHA will now be open Thursday - Monday from 10am-5pm until November (or unless stated otherwise)!

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our Gallery Coordinator, Hayley Butler 😢

If you’ve dropped by the gallery this summer, you have likely seen Hayley greeting folks at the door, at Maker’s Nights or at one of our events. Hayley has helped us with installing works for our Member’s Wall and our current exhibition, connecting us with artists and local businesses, anything related to our current and future merch, and much more!

It’s been a blast having Hayley working with us this year! Thank you so much Hayley for so many wonderful laughs, and conversations! The staff at UHA will miss you (especially Kenzie).

We can’t wait to see what the upcoming year brings you! ❤️

Maker's Night is taking place TONIGHT! (August 27th, 7-9pm)

This will be Karen and Racquel's last Maker's Night during their residency! Drop by from 7-9pm to say hi, chat, and hang out! Maker's Nights are for all ages, you can bring a project that you're working on- or just yourself! We will have some supplies to experiment with if you're interested 😉

Notice to Parents: While we welcome people of all ages at Maker’s Nights, we require that children, or groups of children, 11 and under be accompanied by at least one trusted adult. This is to ensure the safety, enjoyment and care for everyone at Maker’s Nights

Hi folks!

While we're installing our current exhibition, transient maternal: fathoms, by Daze Jefferies and B.G Osborne, we have to reschedule our opening that was set to take place on Saturday, August 29th from 4-6 to be a closing reception in November!

The gallery will be open on Saturday, August 29th from 10-5pm and the new reception will be taking place on November 21, 2025 from 4-6pm where folks can meet Daze and Oz, ask questions, and celebrate with snacks and refreshments

A couple weeks ago, Nature NL hosted a lovely hike through the Murphy’s Cove trail to teach us about the wetlands here in Port Union!

Throughout the hike, folks collected plants and feathers that were used to make Lumen Prints! After the hike, our staff member Kenzie hosted a chill Lumen print workshop, teaching folks how to make art and document plants by placing them on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to the sun.

We had a lovely day learning about our wetlands, and connecting art and nature! Thank you again to Alexis and Nature NL for this wonderful opportunity!
