This rain barrel doesn’t look like much, but for this gardener, it means the world. If you’ve ever watched a storm roll through and thought “I wish I could save that,” you can.

Why rain barrels are a gardener win:
• Free water for beds, containers, and seedlings
• Helps buffer dry spells between waterings
• Less runoff from your yard during heavy rain
• A small step that adds up over a season

Getting started is easier than it seems: place it under a downspout, add a screen to keep debris out, and use the spigot to fill a watering can.

Thinking about setting one up this season? Tell me what you’d water first.
