A Note to My Wonderful Customers

After chasing my dream for the past year, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors to my store. This journey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve loved meeting so many new people, curating a beautiful space, creating art, and hosting workshops.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to follow my dream, and I am deeply grateful to my husband, children, and family for their unwavering support and encouragement.

This decision was not made lightly. It wasn’t for a lack of effort, but a mix of challenges—unpredictable weather, the current political climate, and declining foot traffic—that ultimately made it impossible to continue covering the bottom line.

Though the store is closing, my passion for art and community remains strong. I will continue creating and sharing through my art journey, and I invite you to follow along at . I’ll also continue to host paint parties and art workshops, so please stay connected for upcoming details.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this chapter of my dream.

Join the Gathering Table and () Grey Gallery as we host two amazing showcases of Encaustic Artwork. Opening Receptions happening simultaneously between 5 and 7pm tonight, Friday Sept 5th. These wonderful artists are part of the 1st Canadian Encaustic Conference being held in Owen Sound.
Curious about Encaustic...Come see the wonderful examples of techniques achieved.

**Encaustic painting is an ancient hot wax painting technique where pigments are mixed with heated beeswax and damar resin to create a paint that is applied in a molten state to a surface, such as wood.

Today marks the beginning of The Beauty of Decay - A Wabi Sabi Showcase featuring Encaustic Artwork.
This exhibition, presented as part of the 2025 Canadian Encaustic Conference, showcases works inspired by Wabi-sabi—the quiet beauty found in imperfection, impermanence, and the natural cycle of decay. The featured pieces embrace weathered textures, fractured forms, and the passage of time, capturing the fleeting, poignant beauty in aging, erosion, and the organic transformation of materials.
