I have been an artist, a decorative painter, illustrator and designer for more than 20 years - now, with all my previous credentials, as well as with new ones, received here, in Ottawa, I am teaching art to everyone in the Ottawa School of Art, Glebe centre (GNAG) and sell my art and craft as a licenced vendor AC-1 at the ByWard Market. What I offer: Decorative Painting - colorful compositions in

multicultural style; Greeting cards, Creative Keepsakes and all forms of Paper Art and Craft. Art & craft lessons - Painting (water-based media - acrylic, watercolor, ink, gouache, etc.). Drawing - from the basics to advanced; life drawing, sketches, illustrative and narrative approach (charcoal, graphite pencils, ink&pen, conté, etc.) Decorative Composition - hyper-realistic food\fashion\toys' illustration; fundamentals of Ornamental Design, Applied Art and Figurative Design; multicultural ornaments from all places around the globe. In honour of today’s Winter Solstice, we’re sharing the aptly titled 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘥’𝘩𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 by Jean Paul Lemieux.

Here, Lemieux distills the loneliness of a Quebec winter landscape to its essence. Snow-covered fields are reduced to broad swaths of white and grey, while the distant city appears as little more than a smudge on the horizon. The tension of the composition lies in the subtle tilt of that horizon line, drawing the eye upward toward a cold, indifferent sky.

An invitation to embrace stillness and the beauty of the season, while looking ahead to brighter, longer days.
