We are thrilled to be in Sydney, Australia for the week as guests of the and the Canadian Consulate in Sydney As part of the inaugural Canadian Commercial Galleries Trade Mission, we will attend many openings and events associated with the 25th Biennale of Sydney, along with other wonderful Canadian gallerists. This trade mission provides us with an opportunity to promote our artists to Australian curators and directors and develop meaningful relationships with our peers.
We are grateful for the hospitality of the Consulate staff and our introduction to Sydney, a truly beautiful cultural centre. Today we wandered through the Botanical Gardens and visited the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Central Art Garage is pleased announce an upcoming exhibition with artist Armand Diansambu Opening DATE CHANGE to February 19th 2026. Octopus 1: Spatial and Identity Hybridization. Image
Desire Reduced, 2025
Sculptural Painting Installation
Acrylic and water on Dutch wax print cotton.
Dimensions Variable Diansambu, a multidisciplinary artist and Bantu researcher, he holds a master’s degree in visual arts from the University of Ottawa and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa. His artistic career has earned him several awards as well as numerous international exhibitions, notably in Congo, France, and Canada. His works are also part of public collections, including those of the University of Ottawa, the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, and the Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
His practice interrogates colonial and neocolonial legacies through their material and immaterial traces. Dutch wax fabric, water, and imposed narratives become vectors of ancestral Bantu memory, which he revisits through a ritualistic, performative, and decolonial approach. In this sense, textiles, painting, photography, performance, sculpture, installation, and drawing constitute his primary mediums.
