Norwich & District Historical Society The Norwich & District Historical Society consists of the Norwich & District Museum and the Norwich & District Archives

The Norwich & District Museum is housed in an 1889 Quaker Meeting House and other buildings at the edge of an unspoiled rural village, the Norwich Museum echoes with the stories and legacies of this area's past and present. The Norwich & District Archives was established in 1977 under the direction of the Archives Committee of the Norwich & District Historical Society. The Archives acquires and preserves records created by, for and about the southern part of Oxford County.

Norwich & District Historical Society need your help! We're writing our strategic plan for 2025-2030 and we're looking for community imput in several areas: educational programming, events, and exhibits. Below, we have several surveys gathering information from our community on these subjects - please help us out by filling them in!

The staff and board of Norwich & District Historical Society are saddened by the passing of Paul Kerr. Paul was a board member at the Historical Society and he and Diana were regular volunteers at our Lunch & Learns as well as many other activities around the Museum. Our thoughts are with his family.

Post-pandemic there are over 9,000 workers and 18,400 volunteers working across the province in over 700 museums, galleries and heritage sites. How has a museum worker or volunteer impacted your visit?

We'll be interviewing for our first two summer positions TOMORROW, and as such the Museum will be closed to the public. We still have one position, our Visitor Experience Assistant position, open until Saturday 16th May. See the pinned post on our profile for details and eligibility!
