Art Fix

Art Fix Art Fix is a multidisciplinary arts collective led by and for artists with mental health & substance use lived experience.

We are "fixing" Nipissing region through the arts. Art Fix was founded in 2015 by Amanda Weckwerth (Art Fix Artistic Director) artist with lived experience in mental health and MA psychology graduate and Serena Kataoka, previous Executive Director of the White Water Gallery. The guiding principal behind the program was that engagement in the arts has many benefits for the mental health and well-b

eing of persons living with mental health and additions. Art Fix was additionally created to fill a need in the community, namely that no programs existed for persons with mental health and addiction issues who are considered ‘higher functioning’ in their lives. Furthermore, with knowledge of the lack of educational and awareness raising efforts pertaining to stigma, mental health and addictions, Art Fix sought to provide a means for empowering those with lived experience to play an active role in shaping community attitudes towards mental health/substance use, including challenging stigma.

Art Fix Open Studio will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, November 11, 2025) to observe Remembrance Day.

We will return for our regular drop-in session next week.

Join us on Monday, November 17 (4:30 PM-6:00 PM) and /or Tuesday. November 18 (12:30PM -1:30PM).

Bring your own project or start a new one. FREE Art supplies and FUN and FUNNY peer artists on deck!
