What a year it’s been for our farmers! The long days, the late nights, the unpredictable weather, and the battle to get the crop off the fields… Harvest sure put up a fight this year, stretching on longer than anyone hoped. But through it all, our farmers kept going, working tirelessly to bring in the harvest that keeps our communities going.

Now it’s our turn to say THANK YOU! ❤️

The Morse Museum & Cultural Centre is inviting everyone to join us for a good old-fashioned Harvest Hoedown — a chance to celebrate a job well done, gather as a community, and give our hard-working farmers a well-deserved evening of fun!

We’ll kick things off with a good old-fashioned potluck supper (6:00 to 7:30 pm) then clear the floor and dance the night away with music by DJ Thunderstruck! And guess what …. the young local gentleman behind the music is our very own Ryder Struck!

Think barn dances back in the good old days — families gathering, neighbours visiting, good food, great music, and a whole lot of community spirit. Bring the kids, bring your neighbours, bring your dancing boots! Families are not just welcome — they’re encouraged!

Let’s fill the hall with laughter, music, full plates, and grateful hearts as we celebrate our farmers and everything they do for us.

Congratulations to Dale Heiydt, the lucky winner of this year’s gorgeous handmade quilt! 🎉🎉

We hope you enjoy it Dale — you may have to fight off a few family members who decide it would look better on their couch! 😉

A huge THANK YOU goes to our wonderful local quilter, Sharon Weppler, who so generously donates one of her beautiful handmade quilts to our Museum every year for our raffle.

Sharon’s quilts are truly something special. Each one is a labour of love, stitched together with incredible talent, time and care. We are so very fortunate to have her support our little Museum year after year.

In a small community, it’s the generosity of people like Sharon that helps keep our Museum going — and we are so grateful.

Our Museum may be small, but we sure are blessed with some mighty wonderful people! ❤️

THAT WAS ONE HECK OF A FALL SUPPER!!

What a night! Our Morse Museum Fall Supper was an incredible success — the hall was PACKED, and before long we were setting up tables outside the back door to make room for everyone who came to enjoy the evening with us!

Folks came from near and far, and the hall was filled with the wonderful aroma of turkey, ham, gravy and homemade pie… but even better than the food was the sound of laughter, visiting and community spirit filling the room.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible army of volunteers who helped make this evening possible. Our small group of Museum ladies simply could not have pulled this off without you!!

The museum is open today from 10 AM - 4 PM. This is our last day open regular hours. Over the winter we will be open by appointment only. Thanks for a great season.

ONE LAST COFFEE WITH JOHN BEFORE THE MUSEUM CLOSES FOR THE SEASON!

Tomorrow, September 30th, is our LAST DAY OPEN for the season! And it’s also John’s last day (until he comes back in the spring) at the Morse Museum until we reopen our doors in the spring.

John has been such a wonderful addition to our museum team. His love of research, history and digging up the stories behind our treasures has brought so much to the museum. And if there’s a story to be told, John seems to know exactly who to call!

He has built some great connections with local radio and media, helping our little museum get the coverage and attention it deserves. We’ve certainly appreciated his ability to get the word out and shine a little spotlight on Morse and its history.

And through it all, John always seems to have a smile, a story and a warm welcome ready for everyone who walks through our doors.

So, if you haven’t had a chance to stop in yet this season, tomorrow is your last opportunity! Come on down, have a coffee with John ☕️, wander through the museum, share a story or two, and give him a proper “see you in the spring!”

THANK YOU, JOHN, for a wonderful season and for everything you’ve brought to the Morse Museum. We’ll miss you over the winter and look forward to seeing you back in the spring!

Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket. The event was very successful, we raised at total of $1,595.00 for the museum! All of which will help us continue to operate and provide our programing. This is definatly something we will do again.
