ᐃᓕᓴᑦᑕᐅᒋᐊᓕᒃ - 𝗜𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸: 𝗖𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗶 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝘁 𝗲̂𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀 est une exposition de la collection permanente, explorant la relation entre les animaux et les créatures vivantes.

En retraçant les chronologies de l’histoire inuite et de l’histoire coloniale, l’exposition met l'accent sur l'ingéniosité de la création inuite comme une forme d'écotechnologie née des relations symbiotiques de travail entre les humains et les animaux.

Par le biais d’ une multitude d'objets fonctionnels et décoratifs conçus.e.s par des artisans et artistes du Nunavik, cette exposition aborde le thème de l’Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (savoirs traditionnels Inuit). Composée de six principes, cette exposition s’inscrit aussi dans la lignée du qanurtuuqatiqiinniq qui se traduit par « être innovant et débrouillard».

ᐃᓕᓴᑦᑕᐅᒋᐊᓕᒃ - 𝗜𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸: 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 is an exhibition of the Permanent Collection, exploring the relationships between animals and other creatures.

By following timelines of Inuit and colonial histories, this exhibition focuses on the ingenuity of Inuit making as a form of ecotechnology, born of symbiotic human and animal working relationships.

Through a multitude of functional and decorative objects created by makers and artists from Nunavik, this exhibition engages with themes of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (Inuit traditional knowledge). Composed of six principles, this exhibition also pertains to qanurtuuqatiqiinniq, which means ‘being innovative and resourceful’.

À travers la gravure et le travail du bois, 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘆rend hommage à la pratique du traîneau traditionnel inuit, dit «qamutik » et à l’ingéniosité derrière celui-ci. Son installation immersive explore le rôle du qamutik en tant que vecteur de transmission du savoir, d’innovation liée au territoire et de pérennité culturelle.

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘆 uses printmaking and woodwork to celebrate the ingenuity behind the design of the “qamutik”, the traditional inuit dogsled. His immersive installation examines the qamutik’s function as a vehicle for the transmission of knowledge, land-based innovation, and cultural continuance.

Cette exposition, consacrée à la pratique de gravure de 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗸 dans son village natal d’Ivujivik, explore les fruits de la vie collaborative et de la cohabitation avec le monde naturel.

Cet ensemble d’œuvres de petit format transforme la conception de la chaîne trophique arctique en une source de joie en mettant de l’avant la diversité de la vie marine, animale et végétale, ainsi que les nombreux bienfaits d’une coexistence harmonieuse.

Les œuvres de 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗸 permettent une compréhension des relations qui sont essentielles aux Nunavimmiut (les habitants du Nunavik) et à tous ceux qui peuplent notre planète.

𝙇𝙚𝙨 𝙚́𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙨 𝙙'𝙚̂𝙩𝙧𝙚 réunissent trois joaillières qui déplacent le bijou au-delà de sa fonction ornementale pour en révéler la dimension sculpturale, affective et transformative. Les artistes explorent la manière dont les objets peuvent conserver des traces, transmettre des affects et transformer notre relation au vivant.

𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙞𝙧𝙚 rassemble les œuvres de trois artistes du textile qui élargissent notre définition du territoire. Pour chacune d'entre elles, le geste de construire un territoire commence par se situer soi-même en relation avec des espaces culturels, géographiques, historiques ou métaphoriques.

The exhibition 𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 brings together the work of textile artists 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 (), 𝗠𝘆𝗹𝗲̀𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗱 (.artiste) and 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘄 () who continue to expand the definition of territory. For each artist, the act of constructing a territory begins with situating themselves in relation to cultural, geographical, historical or metaphorical spaces. Their territories are constructed thread by thread, moving across fabric, hide, paper, and cardboard; making space for their vision, memories and imagination.

𝟮𝟴.𝟬𝟱 - 𝟭𝟭.𝟬𝟳.𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸 est une joaillière d’origine ukrainienne et française, installée à Montréal depuis 2014. Après une carrière en production audiovisuelle entre la France et le Canada, elle fonde sa marque 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸 en 2018, amorçant une transition vers une pratique artistique ancrée dans le travail de la matière.

Son travail prend racine dans ses souvenirs d’enfance liés aux boîtes à bijoux de sa grand-mère. Elle garde en mémoire le geste de fouiller et de découvrir des fragments de vie à travers les bijoux conservés. Pour 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸, la joaillerie est un médium d’expression intime où les liens affectifs, les absences et les récits familiaux continuent d’habiter la matière.

Au sein de l'installation, les spectateurs sont invités à découvrir des pendentifs, des souvenirs et des objets personnels appartenant à l'artiste ou à ses ancêtres.

𝟬𝟱.𝟮𝟴 - 𝟬𝟳.𝟭𝟭.𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸 is a jeweller of Ukrainian and French origin, based in Montreal since 2014. After a career in audiovisual production in France and Canada, she founded their brand 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸 in 2018, initiating a transition towards an artistic practice anchored in working with materials.

𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸’s work is rooted in childhood memories tied to her grandmother’s jewellery boxes. She recalls those memories of searching and discovering fragments of life through the preserved jewelry. For 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗸, jewelry is a medium of intimate expression where emotional bonds, absence, and family stories continue to inhabit material form.

Within the installation, viewers are invited to discover pendants, keepsakes, and personal objects belonging to the artist or their ancestors.
