The Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) is a public, not-for-profit, art gallery located in the Mississauga Civic Centre, right on Celebration Square and across from Square One Shopping Centre. The AGM is proud to admit people free of charge, serve communities, and provide positive visual art experiences for all visitors. The AGM provides platforms for exhibitions, collections and experimentation in

contemporary culture with a recent focus on artists and cultural producers from Indigenous, newcomer and youth communities. Through a broad range of educational programs, artist projects and other forms of critical dialogue, the AGM seeks to transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries, foster community, and provide spaces where alternative modes of thought are supported and activated in tangible ways. The Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the land on which we work. The AGM has the privilege of operating in the territory of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation and traditional homeland of the Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee nations. We are thankful to the many First Nations, Inuit, Métis and global Indigenous peoples who call this region home. Directions to the AGM, as well as transit routes and other information, can be found on the website. We were delighted to welcome MPP Sheref Sabawy and OTF’s Willow Tran to the Art Gallery of Mississauga as part of our community workshop and celebration of the Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant.

This important investment has helped strengthen the AGM and enhance our ability to provide accessible, welcoming spaces where our community can connect with art, creativity, and one another.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to MPP Natalia Kusendova-Bashta for her support of the AGM and this project. While she was unable to attend, we are grateful for her continued commitment to arts and culture in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the impact of this funding. We are grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for helping us continue bringing art to the community and the community to art.

Last night, we celebrated the opening of I’ve Been Here Before at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, bringing together community, conversation, and reflection through the powerful work of artists Cathie Jamieson and Jill Price. Rooted in care for the land, material awareness, and environmental stewardship, the exhibition invites visitors to consider our relationship to the natural world and our shared responsibility to protect it.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful evening of art, connection, and dialogue. I’ve Been Here Before is now on view at the Art Gallery of Mississauga until July 19, 2026. We invite you to visit the exhibition and spend time with these thoughtful and immersive installations throughout the summer.

A heartfelt thank you to AGM Productions, our in-kind décor and event setup partner for this year’s HEART OF THE CITY Gala.

From the balloon towers to the centrepieces and place settings, every detail was thoughtfully designed and beautifully aligned with the vision and theme of the evening. AGM Productions worked closely alongside the HEART OF THE CITY Gala Committee to help transform the space into something elegant, welcoming, and unforgettable for our guests.

Their creativity, professionalism, and care behind the scenes played such an important role in bringing the atmosphere of the Gala to life, and we are so grateful for the time, talent, and support they contributed to the evening.

Thank you for helping create such a memorable celebration in support of the Art Gallery of Mississauga and the arts community in Mississauga.

This National Volunteer Week, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible volunteers who help make the Art Gallery of Mississauga such a welcoming, vibrant, and community-driven space.

From supporting exhibitions and public programs to assisting at workshops, events, and outreach initiatives, our volunteers bring generosity, creativity, warmth, and passion into everything they do. Their dedication helps us connect people through art and ensures that the gallery remains an accessible space for learning, reflection, and community.

This week also feels especially meaningful as we reflect on the incredible success of our recent HEART OF THE CITY Gala, an event that was truly spearheaded and supported by volunteers. From planning and preparation to guest support and behind-the-scenes coordination, their commitment and care helped bring the evening to life in such a special way.

Whether you have spent an afternoon helping with a program or have supported AGM for years, please know that your time and care truly make a difference. So much of what we do would not be possible without you.

Thank you for sharing your energy, talents, and love for the arts with us and our community. We are so grateful to have you as part of the AGM family.

Happy National Volunteer Week from all of us at the Art Gallery of Mississauga. 💜

Last night, the HEART OF THE CITY Gala brought something truly special to life inside the Mississauga Civic Centre.

What an incredible evening celebrating art, community, and the people who make it all possible. From the gallery preview to an unforgettable night at C Banquets, the energy in the room was felt in every conversation, every bid, and every moment shared together.

A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Carolyn Parrish for her support, our wonderful MC Martine Gaillard, and auctioneer Stephen Ranger for leading such an engaging and impactful evening. We are also so grateful to live painter Mark Grice, whose work captured the spirit of the night in real time, and to our talented performers for creating such a memorable atmosphere.

Thank you to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, artists, partners, and every single guest who joined us. To everyone who gave, bid, supported, and showed up with such generosity, you made this night what it was.

Because of you, the Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) can continue presenting exhibitions, delivering meaningful programs, and keeping art accessible for our entire community.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by a community that believes in the power of the arts.

More moments from the evening to come.
