Opening Reception & Awards: Saturday, January 9, 2027 | 1–4 pm
Gallery Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 12–4 pm

The Mission Arts Council invites artists of all ages to participate in the Peggy Staber Memorial Art Contest & Exhibition, an annual community event celebrating creativity and expression.

This year’s theme, “DREAMS,” invites artists to explore what dreams mean to them. Dreams can be wild, vivid, strange, or intense. They can take us into surreal or liminal places between reality and imagination, or reflect the hopes and aspirations we have wile we’re awake.

This juried exhibition showcases submissions from local artists in a variety of mediums, with prizes awarded in all age categories during the opening reception. It’s a wonderful opportunity for artists to share their work with the community and for visitors to enjoy a diverse collection of local talent.

Entry Deadline: December 16, 2026
Artwork submission forms can be found on our website under Artist Calls or in person at the Mission Arts Centre.

“Join us on a Safari: From Amboseli to Maasai Mara,” an Art Exhibition by Nancy Arcand & Teri Phaneuf.
September 29 – October 17, 2026, Rock Family Gallery, Mission Arts Centre

Experience the beauty and wonder of Kenya through a collection of handcrafted ceramic sculptures and pastel artworks inspired by the wildlife and landscapes of an African safari.

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 3, 2026, 1:00 – 4:00 pm.

Beautiful souls and Faire Folk!
We are already receiving messages from people asking how to become vendors, entertainers and volunteers for the next Mission Ren Faire, and we are incredibly grateful that so many of you want to be part of what comes next.

But for now, we need to ask everyone to give the Realm-especially the Mission Arts Council office a little time to rest.

The Mission Ren Faire Steering Committee operates as part of the Mission Arts Council, but contacting the MAC office right now is not the best way to express interest in future Faires. Their inboxes are currently being overwhelmed with requests. We will be creating dedicated systems for vendors, volunteers, and entertainers for these opportunities when the time comes.

Right now, our Steering Committee needs time to finish this Faire before we begin building the next one.

We are gathering and cataloguing the comments, messages and feedback you have shared with us. We want to take the time to review it thoughtfully, talk about what worked, what didn’t, what we learned and what we want to do differently. And we will likely do a survey to ensure there is a formal way to give feedback.

When vendor applications, entertainment opportunities and volunteer calls open, we will announce them here on our social media channels. You will not miss them.

Tell us your Faire stories.

Share your photos, videos and favourite moments in posts on your own feeds and tag Mission Ren Faire. Our social media team will be watching, and we’ll reach out when we see stories we would love permission to share.

For now, thank you for giving our volunteers, Steering Committee and the MAC office a little room to recover, reflect and catch up.

Right now we are taking down the Faire; there are booths and tents to take down. Thank you jay for all of your support today, RRR | Porta Potty Rentals | Temporary Fencing | Abbotsford,BC who also has the job of moving the facilities. And thanks to Sentinel Storage where we are taking so much of the realm to be stored.

The Realm will stir again.
But first, it needs a really good nap. 😉

Shauna Johnson combines reality with imagination in the animal kingdom to create images of whimsy and wonder, while Andrea Baeza displays her inner thoughts and contemplations through a variety of media.
