🧵 About the Artist
Davoud's artistic journey began in childhood, learning the intricate geometry and symmetry of Persian rug weaving from his mother. Those early influences remain visible in his work today.
A self-taught artist, Davoud has developed his techniques through more than 25 years of experimentation. His process combines inlaying, laminating, turning, carving and sanding before each piece is polished to reveal the natural beauty of the wood.
His newer free-form sculptures explore nature, movement and the human form, with pieces that can appear to flow like fabric, curve like horns or fan outward like wings.
