Melfort & District Museum

Melfort & District Museum The Melfort & District Museum, located in the heart of northeast Saskatchewan, features an extensive history of Pioneer heritage.

Join our costumed interpreters or go for a self guided tour as you explore our Settler Village, Machinery Row, Indigenous Peoples and Archeology Building and More as we endeavor to tell the history of Melfort and the surrounding area. Our programs include many special events on and off site throughout the year, and school tours, public tours, and Timewarp museum days for children in the summer.

Our Settler Village is open from June to October. Temporary Displays in the Power House are open year round.

It was a big day at the museum as we welcomed a new acquisition: a 1928 Model A Ford, on loan from Paul Thompson.

This rare Model A is a four-door car with a leatherback body by Briggs. Paul purchased the vehicle in 1966, when he was just 15 years old, and spent many years carefully restoring it to better-than-original condition.

We'd also like to extend a big thank you to Brent Stephens for picking up and delivering this beauty for us.

Be sure to stop by the museum this summer to see this amazing piece of automotive history in person. You can also watch for it in the Melfort Parade!

We were thrilled to work on this exciting project!Even local people may learn something new about our city’s history.

Our volunteers and staff have been busy getting the museum grounds ready to welcome guests this summer!

Last week, they moved tractors out for display, repaired sections of the boardwalk, and helped with the City-Wide Clean-Up.

We are so grateful for the time, effort, and care that goes into preparing the museum for another busy season. Thank you, everyone!
