The NCTR is a place of learning and dialogue where the truths of the residential school experience will be honoured and kept safe for future generations.

New Fall Hours! 🍂 The Mahone Bay Museum is shifting its schedule for the season. We are now closed on Tuesdays and will be open Wednesday through Sunday until Thanksgiving. Come visit us soon!

Annie's Attic Announcement 📣

Dear Museum Supporters,

You generosity this year has been amazing. We thank you so very much. We are now in the final stages of getting ready for the sale (26 and 27 September!) and we’ve run out of space!!!

We're excited to announce that our hooked rug exhibit is complete! 🎉

“Everything We Need Already Exists” will be on display until August 2027.

The exhibit explores the origins of hooked rugs as thrifty floor coverings to their eclectic modern variations of folk art and protest. The exhibit was co-curated by Grace Armstrong, Manager/Curator, and returning summer student Carys Duffie.

Thank you to our educational programmer, Lexie Whynot-Dowse, for preparing promotional materials (including this adorable how-to zine); Karen D**e, for designing the Three Churches hooked rug project; and local rug ho**er Susan Brown, for her generosity and support.

Anyone can rug hook! Beginners welcome. Drop by the museum Tuesday-Sunday to try for yourself! 🧶

🛟✨Last Saturday Kids Craft!🛟✨

This Saturday will be our last kids crafternoon of the summer, so come join us to make a beautiful maritime inspired buoy garland! Feel free to pop in any time between 12 - 4 pm as a crafty coastal way to conclude your summer. Free admission, and colouring sheets available for younger children. We hope to see you there!🌊⚓️✨
