This was the 10th year of celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day at the Lumsden Museum. The weather (Mother Nature) held back the rain and we had blue skies and sunshine to share the ceremonies with local children and guests.
See the photos for descriptions of the amazing entertainment.
Thank you Chris Exner for the over and above work in bringing this event to Lumsden. Thanks Matt McGeough. Town of Lumsden, Saskatchewan
Thanks Karen Lumsden Public Library Branch, Southeast Regional Library for bringing storytelling to the tipi and special thanks to Carol Rose GoldenEagle for keeping the kids enraptured.
Thank you to Elder Anne Sengrey for blessing our new rock. We are honoured.
Thank you Kawacatoose Boys and Dance troupe along with Phyllis Littletent. You made the morning spectacular for us all!
My apologies if I’ve missed anyone. It was said that today was a favourite event each year by a museum member. I have to agree. Go Lumsden!

The Lumsden Museum is pleased to welcome Eamon Hayes as our new Curatorial Assistant.
A graduate of Lumsden High School and currently a student at the University of Regina, Eamon is already a familiar face at the museum. He has been a dedicated volunteer since last spring and we are delighted to welcome him back in this new role.
As Curatorial Assistant, Eamon is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the artifact catalog while helping to preserve and share our communities rich heritage.
Some of his duties include:
-assisting with creating meaningful exhibits
-assisting with marketing and public relations
-assisting with coordination and ex*****on of public events

We are excited to have Eamon as part of our team! Drop by and say hello.
