Unleash your creativity in this fun and hands-on class where you’ll create unique greeting cards using a variety of mixed media techniques. Experiment with Gelli plate printing, stamping, painting, and more as you layer textures and colors to design one-of-a-kind cards. Perfect for all skill levels—come play, explore, and discover new ways to express yourself through art!

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

2 classes : $40 members / $45 non-members (Materials included)

Kids will be able to learn the techniques and skills around, composition, colour mixing and paint application
-Play and experiment while exploring various subjects: animals, landscapes, portraiture and still life.

The Village Gallery is pleased to offer “Tangled Roots” as our October show. ‘Tangled’ can describe art where lines or forms intertwine creating friction and complexity. Artists may tangle brushstrokes, patterns, figures, or even typographic elements to produce a busy non-realistic or realistic surface.

This invites the viewer to consciously interpret the message. Sometimes the tangling is literal (knotted hair, braided rope, interwoven cords, roots) and sometimes it’s structural (overlapping textures, intersecting silhouettes, family trees, distorted perspective). Either way it tends to emphasize themes like confusion, desire, fate, memory, or the way ideas and visual input can overlap
and refuse to resolve.

There will be an open house on Tuesday October 13 from 2 to 5pm with light Refreshments.

Learn about Costume Design and Wearable Art!

If you are into cosplay, you are getting ready for Halloween or you just want to learn a new skill, this is the perfect place for you.

The Lumby Theatre Group is offering Costume Workshops starting this Tuesday October 6, 2026. Cost is $30 for the next 3 Tuesdays, and it's totally worth it. Tuesdays, 3:30-5 PM, for 3 weeks.

The instructor is the costume designer from Powerhouse Theatre, and she's going over the differences between building an outfit, versus a theatre costume, versus a Halloween costume. It should be REALLY excellent learning -- how to create a character using clothes, how clothes and props contribute to the character.

If you are interested, please contact the Village Gallery (Monashee Arts Council) at 778-473-3029 to discuss with Hayley or Norma.

This is a chance to sharpen your skills and create something amazing.

The Monashee Arts Council was thrilled to be able to take the time during the weekends Artisan Market to share the day with Robin LeDrew and present her with a Lifetime membership. This has been for everything Robin has done to support and nurture MAC since its early days. From being a member, artist, instructor, board member, leader and long time supporter of the arts; to always being willing to offer her support and contagious love for creating art to artists of all ages and experiences. MAC would not be what it is today without her.
