Canadian Museum of Flight

Canadian Museum of Flight One of only a few flying Aviation Museums in Canada. The Museum’s mission is Bringing British Columbia’s Aviation Past into the Future.
(1)

The Canadian Museum of Flight is located at Langley Regional Airport, Langley, BC, on Canada’s Pacific coast. The rugged west coast has been a natural area for aviation to flourish since the early days of powered flight. With this in mind you will find a comprehensive collection of aircraft and artifacts illustrating this region’s long involvement with aviation. These range from replicas of WW1 ai

rcraft, to a Waco biplane from 1930, a Douglas DC-3 transport from 1940 and a 1942 Hampden bomber. The collection moves into the jet age with a Vampire fighter, the all-Canadian designed and built CF-100, and the needle-nosed Lockheed Starfighter. The Museum believes that their collection should be an active one, and to this end maintains a number of aircraft in flying condition, including a 1930 Waco INF, a 1937 Waco AQC, a 1940 Tiger Moth, a 1940 Fleet Finch and a 1942 Harvard. In addition, a replica of a WW1 SE5A and a replica of a WW2 Mustang are part of the Museum’s collection that fly regularly in the summer months. We would be delighted to share our collection with you!

CMF Annual General Meeting and Elections
Saturday, April 25th @ 7:00pm

Guest Speaker: Paul Monchamp

Paul Monchamp has been an aviation enthusiast most of his life. Starting in elementary school Paul along with his two older brothers made and flew .049 powered line control aircraft, progressing to single channel radio-controlled units. In junior high he began a five-year stint in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets culminating with him earning his pilot licence before graduating High School. A wife and children soon followed. When he was able, Paul joined the EAA chapter at the Delta Airpark flying the Piper J-5 and the Druine Turbi. Paul later purchased a Cessna 150 with two extra seats for the kids. It was fun while it lasted, but the 150 was sold to pay for a new washer and dryer, plus a mini van. Moving to Abbotsford, Paul joined the Abbotsford Flying Club and CASARA (Civil Air Search and Rescue Association) and after 25 years of service he finds himself as Assistant Provincial Training Officer for CASARA. Paul is honored to share his experience.

It’s our Birthday today, and we’re turning 49!

The Canadian Museum of Flight was incorporated on this day in 1977, and since then we’ve seen our organization grow and become something very special. We want to take the time to thank every donors, member, volunteer, staff member, and visitor for helping shape the CMF into what it is today! We greatly appreciate all of your support!
