Happy Monday everyone and happy back to school to all the kiddos out there. It will be a Fantastic year!
We are still at the Stollery for quite awhile probably looking into late October or November by the time all the treatments are done with but that’s ok and things are going well.
If you find back to school stressful, or it’s your first back to school day as a parent, book a fun outing and stress reliever for yourself. Still plenty of space available. Did I mention that these classes are tariff free! Lol. I jest but art is one of the things that has been targeted by the American government. Stay local, visit a local market and see some awesome art ( check my page too for art for sale). Take a local art class and support small businesses. Yes paint and canvas prices went up, but, like the almost 3 years of teaching class, mine will stay as is. Stay safe friends and DM me if you would like to take a class. 👨‍🚒

Happy Thursday everyone!
First an update on Julian:
We are starting round 3 of chemo treatments today and will be here for close to a month again. Everything is looking really great and tests for leukaemia in his spinal fluid and bone marrow have come up negative!!! This is encouraging and really awesome news and we are grateful for the support from the community, friends, and all the specialists and doctors at the Stollery.
So the second big news is I will be restarting my painting classes for September! Myself and Mrs. Painting fireman switch doing night shifts at the hospital so on my “day off” I will be able to do what I love to do.
I really miss everyone and want to share the joy of painting again with you all. Just send me a DM and I will reserve a spot for you. This is a great painting for all skill levels and I hope you can come and have some fun. Groups of 4 can choose any painting from my catalog if they chose not to do this spectacular northern lights painting 🙂. Stay safe friends and thank you from the bottom of my heart. 👨‍🚒

Just a quick Julian update..
HOME! Well.. for a little bit anyways. Round 2 of chemo and recovery is completed and we wait to do it all again for round 3 in about 10 days. It’s been 70 days since we were all at home together as a family. You can probably see the paintings sitting on the chair..those were to be framed but everything came to an abrupt halt when Julian went into the hospital.
Speaking of painting.. I am planning on resuming classes in September ( on a limited basis) and will be posting a schedule in the next couple days. I preach mental health and for my own mental health I NEED to get back to doing what I absolutely love to do. Stay tuned and stay safe! 👨‍🚒

Happy Sunday everyone. Thought today I’d show you some of the things they do for your mental health here at the Stolery Children’s Hospital.
During my painting sessions many of my students comment that it is a mental health break for them when they paint. I often say to everyone at the end of the session “your brain just took a holiday and I’ve been your tour guide for 2 hours”.
Here at the Stolery they bring in many wonderful things to take your mind away for a bit.
Hank “the tank” service dog came for a visit. He is a retired Canadian champion show dog whose hair was the softest thing I’ve ever touched!
The firefighters came and brought their ladder engine. ( I was a bit jealous as we don’t have that type of apparatus lol)
The “beach” is a place where kids can just be kids. Bubble makers, giant video screen to play music videos, and all sorts of jungle Jim accessable equipment.
The healing garden is full plants and water features which is a nice calming get away when you need it. We go for many walks through there!
Anyways as the doctors have told us it’s steady as she goes. Julian is feeling himself more this round of treatment so that’s a big plus! Thanks to everyone who comments, texts and supports us in anyway they can it is truly appreciated.

Happy Friday everyone
Just a quick Julian update for you:
Day 7 of 8 for this round of chemo. It’s going ok he has his good days and bad ones. After the chemo there is 25-31 days of recovery where he is watched closely for infections which are a big concern during this stage. All in all the dr’s are happy with the progress and the aggressive first round of chemo did its job! Now 4 more to go.
Today’s featured painting has a little bit of everything.. northern lights, mountains, and a waterfall.

Happy hump day everyone!
The featured painting today is this wonderful sunset that I painted on a gallery style canvas. She’s a bigger one 12x40 and is on a very thick stretcher bar as you can see. No need for a frame for this beauty!
