Not the message I wanted to share, but in the way of accepting all things as they arrive, it’s the message we have to share. Our lovely gallery here at 15 Burnham Street is officially closing May 02 2026. I’m deeply thankful to our artist who entrusted us with the care of their work over these past years. We’re thankful to our landlords, our neighbours, fellow local business and our community for the ongoing support and kindness we’ve experienced as we nurtured our wee gallery into the haven of craft we’ve enjoyed along the way. You’ve all given so much to Divine Craft including so many good stories. Some happy. Some sad. But always a welcome connection. We can’t thank you enough for the soft landings and careful support through some of the most difficult points in this last year. I thought coming through the profound impact of the fire next door was the hardest thing. But the universe is funny that way. Please pop in and see us. Say Hi. Support our lovely artists. Bits, Bobs & Beautiful Beads : Playing with Surface and Texture with Emma Gerard, Saturday April 25

Join glass artist Emma Gerard for a fun intermediate flameworking workshop at Divine Craft. This class is all about the little details that make beads unique. Emma will guide students through a variety of decorative techniques including bit work, surface decoration, and adding texture to glass beads.

Participants will experiment with raised elements, sculptural elements, and other decorative touches that add depth and personality to their work. This workshop is designed for students who are already comfortable making basic beads and want to expand their skills and play with new techniques at the torch.

Prerequisite: Participants should have taken a beadmaking class previously or have basic flameworking experience.

When you take Granny’s lace doilies and make them Copper Metal you get the amazing synthesis of Gabriella Wilson’s imaginative play between disparate objects. ‘Despues de la Once’ is Gabby’s Tea creation; copper electroplated cotton doilies. Born in Santiago Chile, Gabby’s sculptural work embodies the exploratory themes of diaspora and identity meaning. She’s a recent MFA graduate of York University (Congrats Gabby 🙌🏼💃🏽) and is a member of GAAC where she recently demonstrated electroplating metals and glass. Hello April! This month we’re celebrating all things Tea with our artist collective of ‘Tea’ installation in our Hallway Gallery. Timothy Laurin is Métis artist based in Peterborough Ontario. Tim’s multi-disciplinary works include Print, Sculpture, Ceramics and Enamelled Jewellery. As a life-long educator and craft instructor, Tim’s passion for and advancement of Indigenous representation in craft is central to his work. We’re always excited to see the ebb and flow of Tim’s creative process as it shifts throughout the year. You can find this new body of Tea work at the gallery until April 16th.
