KinWood Collective

KinWood Collective A collective of wood wizards dedicated to the mission of inspiring others through education, skill sharing, and sharing wood art with the world.

Wood Vibe Tribe artists Chris Boux, Andy Smith, & Kyle Vibes create a form of wood art called intarsia. Not typical of traditional intarsia work which is more of a folk art. These artists have found a way to take this traditional method and evolve it to a place that the world has never seen. Using a large variety of different woods from all around the world (mostly reclaimed, or salvaged) these ar

tist are creating the most colourful wood mandalas and wall hangings without using any stains, or paint. These young artists in just less than 2 years are already starting to receive global recognition for their works. Working together to help each other evolve their craft, has helped these artist grow faster than they could ever imagine. Each sharing their unique skills and creative talents has been the perfect recipe for expanding these wood wizards into realms they never dreamed of. The Collective was formed in early 2015 to create an umbrella in where wood artists who share a similar vision and passion for the arts, can work and share under. Sharing skills, and new ideas, sharing gallery opportunities, commissioned projects, collective website, and all social media avenues. This form of collaboration has made it possible for these artists to grow and thrive at a rate much faster than normal. Proving the great power that lies in working together. Though they all make similar art which would normally be viewed as competition, these artists have committed to transcending that old paradigm and are succeeding in helping each other find their own place in the artist world. 2016 is shaping up to be a big year for this collective. With over 15 events under their belt already (5 world class events) The Wood Vibe Tribe has a busy and exciting year mapped out already. Much love and my the forest be with yew!

Created to represent 2 lovely humans on their journey of matramony and a change of both last names to Wyllthawk for their wedding. I love how the carved wooden antlers turned out! Big thanks to for entrusting me with this ceremony piece.

Family crest.

This work is extra special to me. After a decade of developing this pathway to expressing my art, my mom and dad asked to commission a piece. Took a couple years of tinkering with a design until I fell in love with it. I carried that joy throughout the creation. Showing me so clearly how powerful it is to find the 100% yes before I launch into a commission or creation.

This piece represents the incredible gifts my mom and dad carry in their hearts and hands. It's in our lineage. The abundance of growth in the fertile soils of the slow and steady, the delicate and beautifully balanced beings that find nourishment when there is space for them, adding to the diversity and interweave of life.

48 inches in diameter, and using a spectacular array of some of the most exquisite woods I was holding, I am honoured to know this work will be staying in the family.

Love to inspire you,
Kristifir

Beyond excited to finally share a secret project that has been in the works for almost two years!

Commissioned by a beloved client for her husbands 50th birthday on the year of Wood Dragon.

Designed beautifully by & (I got to help on the tail 😉)

Built mainly by Sanaz and myself

The result being one of our favourite pieces that we have ever crafted!

The piece has now been revealed, and is about to begin its journey (home in a way) to Hong Kong, where it will live with its caretaker.

Crafted with some of the most exquisite woods from our treasure stash, all carefully picked to create one our most proud wood/colour blends yet. Chiapas Amber for the eye

Massive gratitude for being supported in this work.
