📦 Some donations arrive in a box; this one took up three tables.
We’re incredibly grateful to Shelly and Dana for sharing such a wonderful collection of Lac La Biche history with the museum.
Among the many items are pieces from Michael Hamar’s store, materials connected to the Sea Cadets, the Lac La Biche Legion, the Ladies Auxiliary, the Order of Royal Purple, and much more.
The collection also includes materials documenting Sophie Hamar’s work as a director of the Lac La Biche Pow Wow & Fish Derby Association, Pow Wow memorabilia, and even a 1970 Lac La Biche tourism brochure illustrated by Alex Janvier.
These three tables hold so much community history, and we’re happy to preserve it for the future. Thank you, Shelly and Dana, for thinking of the museum and trusting us with these pieces of Lac La Biche’s story

🎓 Thank You to Our Summer Students!
A big thank you to Emily, Erin, and Ceilidh for all their work at the Lac La Biche Museum this summer!

They helped with collections management, cataloguing, digitization, organizing archival materials, developing and installing exhibits, and a million other small tasks that kept the museum moving throughout the summer. They also brought their own skills and ideas to the museum, gave us some great feedback, and even taught us a few things about filming and recording videos.

Summer went by far too quickly, and now our wonderful summer students have headed back to school. We’re sorry to see you go, but we wish all three of you a great school year! 📚
