Museum of Northern History A page to promote the Museum of Northern History and Sir Harry Oakes Chateau in Kirkland Lake. There's a gift shop for souvenir hunters.

The museum is housed in the elegant and beautifully restored Sir Harry Oakes Chateau, the home built in 1929 by the founder of the prosperous Lake Shore Mine. Explore our past, pioneers and prospectors, miners and millionaires, native legends, sports heroes, wildlife, and works of art. The Museum of Northern History has something for the whole family.

Did you know that one of the best ways you can support the Museum year round is to buy a museum membership? There's never a wrong time to pick up yours as they are good for a calendar year from purchase!

Members receive general free admission, some free passes for guests, and discounts in the Gift Shop, on rentals, and some programming.

Reach out to the Museum if interested or for more details!

We're very excited to be welcoming back instructor Natalie St Cyr to the Museum for this "oh so delightful" Pumpkin themed art workshop for kids!

This class will take place on Sunday, Oct 18th and run from 10am to 11:30am for children ages 6 and up. The cost is $30 (+tax)

We can't wait to welcome you to the KL Project, a wonderful photography exhibition by artist Teresa Allaire.

We'll be hosting an Opening Reception on Saturday, October 3rd from 6pm to 8pm. There will be an array of treats including Sugar Daddy’s Bake Shop and refreshments by Sipsters Mobile Events. There will be a special Q & A Session taking place at 7pm.

Admission is free!

Can't make it tomorrow? No worries! The exhibit will be up in the Gallery until November 7th!

We hope to see you out at the Chateau!
