Grist Mill and Gardens in Keremeos Our waterwheel flour mill was built in 1877 and is still going strong.

The peaceful mill, historic shop, quaint tea room, summer kitchen and old apple house are nestled alongside Keremeos Creek and surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards.

Harvest season is in full swing in the Similkameen Valley and the heritage apple trees at the Grist Mill and Gardens are practically bent double with fruit!

Unlike grocery stores, which typically stock between 5-10 long-storing, non-browning, popular varieties, the Grist Mill has more than 60 different apple trees on site. Each one has its own unique texture and taste that will add interesting layers of flavour complexity to your autumn baking.

Please join us at the Grist Mill this Sunday, September 20, to wander the old orchards, sample some of the many unique, long-forgotten varieties in the old Apple House, and pick a bushel to take home with you.

Dani’s making a big batch of borscht and fresh scones to help fuel your endeavours.

Regular admission rates apply (Seasons Pass holders visit for free). Please bring your own bags/boxes if you want to take some apples home with you - they will be sold by weight at $1/lb.

🎶 💗 We couldn’t be more excited to announce that David Barber and Kirby Barber will be performing at the Grist Mill and Gardens Fall Fair this Saturday!

Our new stage is all set up and ready to make sweet music with the these two award-winning legends as well as beloved local artists, K Creek and Desert Gems.

🍁🍃 Come out and enjoy wonderful music, tasty food and good, old fashioned family fun. We’ll have:
🍎 Carnival Games: Fishing for apples (the new version of bobbing for apples), pumpkin ring-toss, pin-the-bow on the scarecrow,
🏃‍♀️Races: Relay, tug-of-war, three-legged races and potato sack races
🍲 Food: Chilli (and all the fixin’s), cornbread, caramel apples and fall baking galore
🎪 A vendors market selling so many wonderful things (is it too soon to start thinking about Christmas gifts?)
🐐 Adorable goats in desperate need of cuddles, pets and brushing thanks to GottaGoat Farm
🎃 A beautiful fall pumpkin display generously donated by Peach King Orchard (get your cameras ready for family photos!)
🍏 And of course our annual zucchini car race and apple races down the creek.

It will be a full day of fun for the whole family and we cannot wait to welcome you!

The Fall Fair Zucchini Car Races are coming up, and it is time to get started on your custom speed machine.
Do you have what it takes to cross the finish line first? Grab a zucchini, add some wheels, and let your imagination run wild!
The Rules:
- Must be built on a real zucchini
- Axles must go through the zucchini
- Vehicles must rely on gravity (no motors!)
- Creative decorating with paint, markers, and googly eyes is heavily encouraged

Bring your racer to the Fall Fair on September 12. Winner takes home one of Dani’s famous caramel apples!

Join us for our annual community celebration packed with family fun, seasonal food, and great entertainment!
When: Saturday September 12th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: The Grist Mill and Gardens in Keremeos.
What to expect:

Come and join us on Saturday, August 15 for our Heritage Skills Day. We’ll have lots of keepers of the old ways on site, demonstrating bee keeping, candle dipping, weaving, spinning, juice making, whittling and more!

Wildfire evacuees: We would like to offer you free entry to the Grist Mill and Gardens in Keremeos today (Monday, August 10). Please, bring your family and make a day of wandering our peaceful gardens, exploring the historic buildings and enjoying some lawn games out on the Mill lawn. Our hope is that the distraction will do some good for your spirits. (Bonus: the smoke isn’t as bad down here as it is in Penticton)
