THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒพ

Back in June, the team from RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) stopped by Pioneer Acres to present us with an incredible $3,000 donation!
Community support is the heartbeat of our museum, and donations like this allow us to continue educating visitors, running our historic equipment, and preserving Western Canadian history. ๐Ÿšœ

A massive thank you to RBC for investing in our community and supporting Pioneer Acres! ๐Ÿ›๏ธโœจ

Sharing history near and far! ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿšœโœจ

Last weekend (Aug 22 & 23), Pioneer Acres headed to Heritage Park for their Workin' For the Weekend event!

Our team hosted live "Thresh Afresh!" demonstrations using our 1/3 scale 1927 Advance Rumley Thresher and 1/3 scale 1917 OilPull Rumley tractor. It was an amazing weekend connecting with visitors, handing out grain samples, and sharing what Pioneer Acres is all about!

And yesโ€”WE ARE STILL OPEN! ๐ŸŒพ
Our museum grounds in Irricana are open through September, so thereโ€™s plenty of time left to bring the family out for a day of rural Alberta history.

Thank you to our volunteers for bringing a piece of Pioneer Acres to the city! ๐Ÿ‘

CALLING ALL CLASSIC CAR & HISTORY ENTHUSIASTS! ๐Ÿš˜๐ŸŒพ

This Sunday, August 30th, Pioneer Acres is excited to host the Studebaker Drivers Club (Pacific Can-Am Zone Meet)!

The public is warmly invited to come out, wander the grounds, and admire a fantastic lineup of classic Studebaker vehicles from across Canada and the U.S. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Fun historical fact: long before Studebaker made iconic automobiles, they built wooden farm wagonsโ€”and we actually have one right here on display on our grounds! (Donated in memory of Elmer Mason by Phyllis & Glen Mason from Davidson, Sask.) ๐ŸŒพ

Itโ€™s a perfect match of classic motoring history meeting our agricultural roots.

๐Ÿ“… When: Sunday, August 30th
๐Ÿ“ Where: Pioneer Acres Museum, Irricana
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Admission: Open to the public during regular museum hours!

Bring the family, enjoy a walk around the grounds, and check out these beautiful pieces of automotive history!

REVEAL TIME! ๐Ÿ› ๏ธโœจ

Did you figure out yesterday's mystery item?

What it is: That metal strip is an Alligator Belt Lacing (or belt splice clip)! Before continuous modern V-belts, long flat canvas or leather belts were joined together using these steel metal teeth and a pin. They allowed farmers and mechanics to quickly splice heavy drive belts back together on the spot when driving massive farm equipment, threshers, and steam engines! ๐Ÿšœ

Where to find it: In The Grain Academy on the side of the old box car!!!
How many of you guessed it correctly? Let us know in the comments if youโ€™ve ever seen one of these in action! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Hereโ€™s a clue: Itโ€™s hiding in an unexpected place, but it played a massive role in keeping old farm machinery moving! โš™๏ธ๐Ÿ‘€
