Oh look!.Here's our very own "Speedy " - we have to keep him tied down or he & Brody the Bras d'Orosaurus would be heading for a dip 🤽‍♀️ at either Iona Port or the Grand Narrows swing bridge on a double digit Mercury day like today!

Yes, we don't mind repeating ourselves....
We don't mind remembering the days of our past,
We know how lucky & wonderful it was to be there

As beautiful & diverse as Cape Breton Island is, we just don't have deserted mountains that can be flattened and rearranged to give us enough space for double lane divided highways that have 'cropped up' in other areas of our province. Everyone from time to time ends up making a trip across this Island in one direction or another, it takes time, sometimes extra time in comparison to previous trips, and still there are not many alternative routes for certain destinations- depending on where you've started from. I'm very sure if you had the privilege to motor those same routes during the 1980's the absence of strings of shipping containers taking over the passing lanes would likely be among one of the first things you would notice. Any idea why that would be? Here's a "clue" :
