Don MacKenzie

Don MacKenzie MacKenzie Creations are wood sculptures by Don MacKenzie. Dons sculptures are created from either Basswood or Tupelo.

Using calipers each bird is carefully measured to ensure that he has recreated the bird to it's actual size. He uses his imagination to sculpt the habitats always setting each bird in it's natural environment. Leaves are collected each fall and there colours replicated and recorded to ensure that they are as close to there original colour as possible. The feathers are recreated using real feathers as an example or the information is gleamed from books and the internet.
