Did you know that Humboldt hosted the Quill Plains Winter Games multiple times?

If you remember this sporting event that ran from the 1970s to 2000s, then tell us! Did you or someone you know ever compete? What was the experience like?

For this year's winter exhibit, we're collecting community stories, photos, objects, and more all about how the people of the Humboldt area have adapted their working and playing to the wintertime.

If you'd like to share with us, visit our website at humboldtmuseum.ca/upcoming-exhibits for more details on what we're looking for.

Please note that anything you tell us (including in the comments) could be displayed in our exhibit!

Have you ever wondered how beautiful Ukrainian dance costumes are decorated?

Join us for a lesson on Ukrainian cross-stitch techniques with Lois Indzeoski on Saturday, October 24 from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. at the Humboldt and District Museum.

The cost is $20/person or $18 for Gallery Members and all supplies are provided. Please call the Museum to register 306-682-5226. If you'd like to come just for the conversation and learning about local Ukrainian culture, there is no fee and registration is not required.

Congrats to the first two winning teams for the Museum's annual Escape Room!

Do you think that your team can be the third?

The Museum's 3rd annual Escape Room will take place on Thursday, October 29 at 7pm. Be the first team to solve the mystery of who killed Alexander von Humboldt!

$10/person and each team can have a maximum of 5 people. Spaces are limited so sign up soon!

Don't miss this amazing concert at the Gallery!

The Vancouver-based folk band The Fugitives are playing here on Tuesday, October 27 as part of their Western Canada tour!

Tickets are $25 and available at the Museum and Gallery.

The Gallery is hosting our first "Craft Night Out" tomorrow night! (Wednesday, October 7 at 7pm!)

For a $5 drop-in fee, you can make these very cool alcohol ink fall leaves - or just experiment with some of our art supplies, including alcohol ink and Yupo paper! Come for conversation, community and crafting!
