We had an exciting day at the museum today: we cut the ribbon on our model pulp mill!

Many thanks to Paul DiJulio, Chris Dalziel, and Darby Kowalchuck from , Don Marciszyn from Unifor, and Mayor Brian Laberge for coming to cut the ribbon!
Daphna, our summer Museum Assistant, led the way on building the mill this summer! She had help from Sabrina, Nicole, Susan, John, Heather, Dan, and the staff at the Hinton Municipal Library! Stay tuned for more photos and stories 😄

📸We're delighted to announce a photography takeover at the museum this September! All events are free thanks to Alberta Culture Days funding!
🖼September 8 - 30: The Best of Alberta Traveling Exhibit, featuring award-winning images from the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), Alberta Region, will be on display at the museum.

🥂September 19, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Exhibit Launch! Enjoy light refreshments, see the exhibit, and participate in a 'Look Closer' contest (there's a prize!).

🌲September 25-26: Nature Photography Workshop with Carmen Therriault!

🖼️ Prepare to be amazed next time you visit the museum: Stories of Resilience is here! This exhibit, full of local stories and art, is coordinated by The Resilience Institute, and we are honored to be its home for the bext year.

Join Yellowhead County Heritage Program and local historian Ken Groat for a presentation on the history of the Athabasca Valley, on September 5th at 1:30pm at the Red Brick Arts Centre in Edson! The event is free, but registration is required.
