The Kent Harrison Arts Council is pleased to welcome Rhea Szarics as the 2026-2027 Artist-in-Residence!

Rhea is an emerging multimedia and installation artist currently based in Agassiz. Their involvement in arts organizations on both the East and West Coasts clarified their commitment to developing an art practice with a strong local focus. Their work is made in response to landscapes, materials, objects, and spaces found in the place where they live, and seeks to involve the people they encounter there.

Rhea is honoured to have been chosen as this year's Artist-in-Residence. They hope to spend their residency time exploring intersections between their zine-, print-, and papermaking practices, engaging members of the Agassiz-Harrison community as much as possible in the process.
