Update on our Summer Opening Hours! 🏛️✨

The Hall's Harbour Historical Society is happy to announce that our schoolhouse museum will officially be open for the summer season with reduced hours starting tomorrow Friday, July 10!

While we faced some unexpected scheduling challenges that delayed our original opening, members of our board and the community have stepped up to volunteer their time so we can still welcome visitors this year. Thank you everyone!

Our Summer Hours (July & August):
📅 Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
⏰ 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We are incredibly grateful for our community's continued support and understanding. Come on by, step back in time, and explore the rich history of Hall's Harbour with us. We can’t wait to see you!

Due to unforeseen circumstances the school house museum opening will be delayed this year. Thanks to everyone who stopped by after breakfast on Canada Day and we'll announce here once we have concrete plans in place. Thanks for your understanding and continued interest in the harbour's history.

We're happy to announce that the school house museum will be opening for the season on Friday July 3! Forest will be returning, ready to show you around and introduce you to some of the history of the harbour and surrounding areas. The museum will be open Wednesday to Sunday for the rest of the summer.

We'll also be open for a few hours during breakfast on July 1 so pop on by once you've finished your pancakes at the fire hall!

Job Title - Interpretive Guide

Tasks and Responsibilities
The student will meet with the Directors to understand the goals of the Historical Society. They will work with society members to set up displays, exhibits and photographic collections. They will learn and speak about the history of Hall's Harbour, discussing the exhibits and displays at the schoolhouse. The student will have strong speaking skills, as well as strong writing and research skills. They will also be familiar with Word and Excel for cataloguing and research. When not meeting with the public and promoting the history of Hall's Harbour, the student will work with society members to collect and catalogue archival materials.

What skills will the participant develop during this placement?

• Problem solving
