The Sudbury 2001 Time Capsule is a very cool piece of local (and relatively recent) history! It was placed in a column of Tom Davies Square nearly 25 years ago, and was opened again this past Saturday.

Be sure to stop by the Main Public Library Branch of the Greater Sudbury Public Library to see what was inside! The collection will be there until May 18.

Check out these roller skates from our collection! 🛼

These roller skates and the key for tightening/losing their bolts were donated to the Greater Sudbury Museums in 2013 by a resident of Lively. These skates were purchased in 1958 in Parry Sound, where the donor grew up.

While the first wheeled skates came about in the mid 1700s, they were not quad skates - they were the predecessors of modern inline skates (with the wheels lined up where an ice skate blade would be.
