Thanks to everyone who bought pie at our pie auction on Sunday, we raised over $1700 for hall repairs and maintenance! 👏🎉 From old fashioned peach to tourtières, our board members outdid themselves in the kitchen.
Congratulations to the Mother’s Day basket winner, Waylon (our board member’s grandson) ❤️. And thanks to the donors of the baskets: UMVS Board Members, Yvette from Pharmacie St. Pierre Pharmacy, and Gracie Gay.

The Ukrainian Museum & Village Society Inc needs YOU to help preserve our heritage, pioneer new community-focused projects and keep our facilities thriving. We are now calling community members and those passionate about preserving heritage to come on board! Take this opportunity to make a difference in a completely volunteer run organization.

✅Why join?
The UMVS has been a cultural and community meeting place for over 60 years. We preserve over 150 years of heritage in our museum and on the grounds. In 2025, we reached over 800 people with our annual Ukrainian festival, and are excited to welcome guests at our newly developed campground. We have members from Gardenton, surrounding areas and Winnipeg!

✅ Who we need:
- People with experience in business 📉
- jacks-of-all-trades (carpentry, general maintenance, etc.) 👷
- history buffs 📜
- grant writers 📑
- event planners 🎉.
Our mission is to continue to develop our campground and community halls, plan fundraiser events, and keep our community space thriving.

✅ What’s the commitment?
- Board meetings: 6-8 meetings per year in Gardenton, MB
- Volunteer hours: volunteering at fundraiser events (at least 2 per year); overseeing and participating in ongoing special projects throughout the year.
- Committee Roles Needed: Secretary, Vice President, Campground Director, Summer Student Manager, Grounds & Maintenance Director, Museum Curators, Grant writer
- Term: 2 years (renewable)
