The 1000 Islands History Museum is looking for enthusiastic and outgoing students to join our team as Museum Interpreters through the Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations program!
This is an exciting opportunity to spend the summer surrounded by local history while gaining hands-on experience in tourism, events, education, and museum programming in the heart of the Thousand Islands. 🌊🏛️
✨ Position Highlights:
• $17.60/hour
• May 5 – August 31, 2026
• 37.5 hours/week (including weekends)
• Work in a fun, community-focused environment
As a Museum Interpreter, you’ll:
🎤 Lead guided museum tours
🛍️ Assist visitors and gift shop sales
🎨 Deliver children’s educational programs
📅 Help plan and run special events
📍 Share local tourism information with visitors from around the world
We’re looking for students who are reliable, friendly, and passionate about history, tourism, or culture. French language skills are considered an asset!
Eligible applicants must be between 16–30 years old and meet Young Canada Works eligibility requirements. Priority will be given to students who have not previously participated in the YCWHO program.
