The Guardhouse

The Guardhouse Built in 1828, The Guardhouse is one of four remaining structures from the British garrison that occupied downtown Fredericton from 1784 until 1869.

The Guardhouse is now occupied by the Fredericton Fencibles; part of the Calithumpians, a renowned theatre troupe that has been active in Fredericton for over 30 years. The Fencibles offer free downtown tours three times a day, croquet, a daily show, and the famed “Day in a Soldier’s Life”.
