The Currie House Museum

The Currie House Museum Come visit Fredericton Junction's historical Currie House Museum and appreciate local history at it'

The Currie House is Fredericton Junction's local history museum. Filled with artifacts from members of the community and surrounding region the house captures the way life used to be for the people in this area. The buildings and grounds are historical landmarks with rich histories of their own. The grounds are home to the house, barn, picnic area and Robin Hanson's "ART IN THE PARK" - sculptures

that are scattered among the trails between and behind the house and river. The Currie House is free to enter when open, but donations of money or bottles are encouraged to help raise money to replace the roof in the coming months. Full tours, partial tours, and question and answer tours are available by our knowledgeable summer students or the house can be self toured by visitors as well. Coffee and tea is available by donation of $5.00 or more and served in the Currie house china for the full "Tea time" experience. Items for sale include:
"Days of Old" - A history of Fredericton Junction, $25.00. "The Currie House Music Box Collection"- Recordings of the Currie House's music box on CD (samples of the CD can be played by staff), $10.00. Canvas photographs of the area, $10.00
"Fredericton Junction Canadian Pacific Railway Station"- Postcards of the old station, $0.50. All money from items sold will also be going towards the funding for a new roof and for general maintenance of the building and grounds.

It’s been a busy weekend at the Currie House Trail. I was impressed with only picking up a couple of Tims cups and a broken lawn chair - until the end of my trail inspection were someone tossed their picnic lunch garbage a few feet into the woods close to the neighbours. Wildlife tore open the bag. The Village has garbage cans along route 101 - if you can’t take your garbage home, at least be considerate and use the public garbage cans. Thanks to those who do keep the area free of garbage.

Please note that for the safety of the community we have decided to close the Currie House Trails due to the fire index. The Museum will remain open.

How is your summer going? Here is an update on ours. We have three great summer students working for us this summer they have the museum open from 9 - 4 for tours with a closing at noon for an hour. Access to the Currie House is only $5 - doesn't matter how many people are in your group.

On our first week of operation the local thief heard the students mow the law and stole our gas can that was stored in the barn. So we moved to having one of our members bringing some gas from home each time to fill the mower.....that is until Monday when it was discovered that our push mower was stolen (most likely Sunday night). It's very frustrating to say the least. The RCMP actually did pay a visit to the Museum - if you have had a recent theft - we encourage you to let the RCMP know or at least let Council Mersereau of the Village Office know for his report.
