Norva Centre The Northern Visual Arts Centre has the mandate to enhance our culturally vibrant community. NorVA Centre acknowledges that we are in Treaty 5 Territory.

The land on which we work and live is the traditional territory of the Cree, Inninnowuk, Dene, Saulteax, Oji-Cree, Anishinabe and Homeland of the Métis

The NorVA Centre is an artist run studio and gallery co-operative committed to supporting and promoting local artists and craftspeople in northern Manitoba. Enriching our rural community by exhibiting the artwork of local and professional artists,

offering a broad range of workshops and classes for artists of all skill levels and hosting numerous visual arts and cultural events. The NorVA Centre also offers meeting and event space for other cultural groups such as the Flin Flon Writer’s Guild and Flin Flon Creighton Photo Club.

Monday was a wonderful day of creativity at the NorVA Centre! 🦌✨
Participants learned the techniques behind this unique fibre art of caribou tufting and creating their own beautiful pieces along the way.

🎨 Mentorship Opportunity with Artist Karen Cornelius

NorVA Inc. with the assistance of the Canada Council for the Arts, is excited to offer a focused mentorship opportunity with Winnipeg artist Karen Cornelius, designed to help artists strengthen their creative practices, articulate their ideas, and build connections within the local arts community in Flin Flon.

✨ 8 artists will be selected!

Participants will take part in reflective discussions, critique, experimental making, and a supportive peer environment.

📅 Registration deadline: September 5
💰 Cost:
• $175 – Non-members
• $150 – NorVA members
This is to cover expenses for the materials used.

💻 Program highlights:
• 3 Zoom meetings (2–3 hours each)
• Friday, October 23 – evening, 3 hours
• Saturday, October 24 – 6 hours
• Sunday, October 25 – 3 hours
• Final exhibition of participants’ work
