You know the ad, it says "the last day of one sale, is the first of the next!". Well, we may be closed for the season, but quite a few of the artists that have been showing their work in the Station Gallery this summer are also participating in the Victoria County Studio Tour the upcoming two weekends. They, and the other participating artists, would love to see you. The weather has been beautiful and a day out visiting artists, seeing our beautiful area isn't a bad way to spend a day or two.

Today is the last day of the season for the Fenelon Station Gallery. We are open from 10am -5pm. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our artists and the gallery. We are a coop gallery, where all of the artists work a number of shifts and it is lovely to meet the customers and visitors that drop by. We will see you again in June 2027!

These are the last few days that the Fenelon Station Gallery is open for the season. Our last day is on Monday September 21st. While we would love to be open for the full year, the beautiful Station Gallery is not heated. We hope you will drop in over the next few days to say hello and check out the art we have had in the gallery this summer.

Once a special education teacher, now a local artist, Sandi McNeil is known for her large wall weavings and various “fish” baskets made exclusively from locally gathered natural materials. Sandi is also known as a wire sculpture artist, specializing in trees, big and small, displayed in picture frames. Recently, Sandi’s creative energies have turned to wet and needle felting. You'll find each of these types of her art at the Fenelon Station Gallery.

Sometimes, a piece of antique glass will sit on Janet Tysiak’s shelf for years…always admired but waiting for the perfect pattern that would enhance its unique beauty. She decided that the best course of action would be that no formal pattern was drawn. The natural lines within the glass dictated the new form it would become. Complimentary facets and tan antique glass were also incorporated. The finished piece is very much a one of a kind story.

Mary Firth’s scraps of some glass don’t get scrapped. This wee piece of red glass was all that remained after cutting out three small cardinals which will be taped and soldered shortly. The colour is perfect for hummingbird throats, so a rummage through the box of green scraps and a lone piece of white can be the impetus for another batch of hummingbirds!

They say that when life hands you lemons you make lemonade!

Anne-Marie Van Brunt had created a fun underwater theme on a large circular disc in Fused Glass and planned to display it on a metal stand.
All went well until she fired it for the second time, and to her horror....it cracked!

A year went by and she looked at it when she passed by from time to time. One day she decided to use her ring saw and cut out these cute little fish and try to give them a second life.
Et voila! They became paper weights to hold napkins from blowing away in the wind on my patio!

Lots of artsy things to do this weekend! Why not visit the annual Kawartha Arts Festival, go to the Colborne Street Gallery by Tim + Chris (on Saturday) and visit us here at the Station Gallery! Triple the fun!

It takes a village to put together an event no matter how big or small. What an amazing village we have...from the sponsors, the vendors who make things happen, to the helpers, to the artists , to the volunteers and the incredible board who are also volunteers by the way it is coming together. The challenges and hiccups get washed away by the good vibes, the opportunities, the quality of art for all that this show brings and has brought for over 30 years. There is a lot to be proud of and we know how to bring it. See you at the show...at the Fenelon Fairgrounds Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-4
