Join us this Thursday at 5:00 p.m. for another Snapshot Social. This week celebrates the first day of the Moosehide Gathering. We will have a collection of photos on display from the very first gathering along with other photos featuring hunting, trapping, fishing, and farming.

Since 1993, the Moosehide Gathering has brought people together to celebrate Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in culture, honour ancestors, and share stories, songs, dances and traditions that were carefully preserved and returned to the community after generations.

It was in the 1890s, when Hähké (Chief) Isaac, recognizing the immense changes brought on by the Klondike gold rush, entrusted the songs and dances of the Hän people to relatives in Tanacross for safekeeping. Nearly a century later, those songs and traditions began their journey home, leading to the first Moosehide Gathering in 1993.
