We have two great shows up at the gallery with an opening reception on Saturday, Sept 12 at 1:30!

A very intriguing exhibition 'People Paper' by Cara Jones uses a combination of photography and poetry with a link to a narrated version of the poetry. We also have our second fibre inspired show 'Radical Craft'. A great exploration of material and wild inspiration.

You may have noticed a few new works of art popping up around Dawson Creek! 🦋

Today, we’re showcasing one of the newest murals in our city, created by local artist Teegan Skin on 102 Ave.

Here’s a little more about Teegan, her artistic practice, and the inspiration behind this beautiful piece!

Teagan Skin is an Indigenous Canadian artist born in 2006 in Dawson Creek, BC where she was raised. She has found comfort in art and continued her artistic passions all throughout her school years. Has received three art awards from South Peace Secondary high school. Her passion and inspiration for art
comes from her family, friends and Catholic background. She has had pieces in the Dawson Creek Art Gallery and in Arts North East’s OPEN SKY regional art exhibition. Teagan is now a student artist reaching for a Bachelors in Fine Arts at Grande Prairie’s Northwestern Polytechnic.

ROCK THE BLOCK is back for another weekend!🎶🎸☀️

Join us at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery this Saturday, August 22 from 3:00–5:00 PM for a FREE afternoon of summer fun, live music, local talent and good company.

We’re taking over the parking lot and turning it into a stage, with live music from local musicians Jonny Kurjata and Folky Strum Strum, snacks and a bar hosted by the Art Gallery, games, sidewalk chalk, and more.

Whether you’re coming with friends, bringing the kids, grabbing a drink, or just looking for something fun to do on a Saturday afternoon — everyone is welcome!

So grab a lawn chair, round up your people, and come enjoy some sunshine, music, and community at ROCK THE BLOCK.
