The kwēcic museum has Birth, Marriage, Death, Confirmation Records, Church of England (Anglican Church) records. There records date back to the mid 1800’s up to recently.
Posted is a picture of a Death Record of Chief John Cochrane 1876. He was buried at the cemetery by the Samuel Hearne Fort ( Church of England Church cemetery) located towards Terring River. The records show there are hundreds of burial plots in that graveyard.
The community should come together to designate both gravesites as heritage sites.
The Catholic Church cemetery as well. The records from the Catholic Church are being requested at this time.
Thank you to the Museum Committee with partnerships with Professor Allyson Stevenson, University of Saskatchewan and the other partners for supporting our community bring our local history home.
