Think Cow Head history is all fishing, boat building, and beautiful coastal views? Think again.🪓

Beneath the peaceful surface of our shores lies a dark and bone-chilling past. This summer, the Dr. Henry N. Payne Museum & Craft Shop is pulling back the curtain on a chapter of local history.

Every Tuesday night at 7:00 PM, the atmosphere shifts as we embark on the Axe Murder Walk.

Step back into the shadows of April 1809 and retrace the steps of a crime that shocked the coast: the notorious Double Axe Murders. As twilight sets in, we’ll hand you a handheld lantern to light your path as we guide you through the head. You’ll learn about the real people caught up in the tragedy. It’s local history like you’ve never heard it before—fascinating and entirely true.

Whether you're a true-crime enthusiast, a history buff, or just looking for a unique evening out, this guided walk promises an unforgettable experience. 🌲👣

The Details:
When: Every Tuesday at 7:00 PM

Where: Meet up at the Dr. Henry N. Payne Museum

Lanterns: Provided for use during the walk

Admission: $10 single / $25 per family

Spaces fill up quickly, and pre-registration is highly encouraged to secure your spot on the tour!
