Milner Heritage House Community The unofficial Milner House fan page. Built in 1894 by Robert and Emma Milner, under the architect James L. Drop in tours daily by donation.

This page supports heritage efforts in Chatham-Kent, specifically those tied to the Milner family and Edwardian Era, but is not associated with the Chatham-Kent Museum or Municipality of Chatham-Kent. Wilson, Milner Heritage House is an admirable instance of late Victorian Queen Anne architecture. The Milners occupied the home from when it was built, until 1941, with the death of Robert Milner. In

July of 1943, Aubrey, the third eldest of the children and executer of the estate, donated the home to the city under the single condition that his mother’s artwork would continually be on display. In 1988, the museum relocated to its Murray Street location, and a notion to restore the home to what it would have looked like while the Milners maintained residency was put forward. Restoration was completed in 2000, and the home has since been kept to the time period 1905. Milner House is open daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day from 1pm to 5 pm.
