Artist Spotlight: Damien Worth

We're spotlighting Damien Worth, whose solo exhibition 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 is now on view at This Town Is Small.

Damien Worth is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in rural Prince Edward Island/Epekwitk . A graduate of NSCADU, Worth’s interest in experimental approaches to art production are focused in the media of painting, sculpture, video, and installation. His work explores the tensions that exist between worlds; the dynamics of natural and manufactured sites, reality and fiction, and the perils of certainty.

Reminder: This Wednesday is the opening reception for both 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 and 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 - solo exhibitions by Konrad Wendt and Damien Worth!

This event is free and open to all ages. We look forward to celebrating with you! There will be a cash bar for alcoholic beverages. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will be offered free of charge.

These exhibitions will be on view from June 11 to July 25, 2026. The gallery will resume regular opening hours (noon to 5 PM, Wednesday-Saturday) starting on Thursday, June 11th, following the opening reception on Wednesday evening.

This Town Is Small pleased to present 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, a solo exhibition by Konrad Wendt.

📆 Opening Reception: 5-7PM, Wednesday, June 10th!

"The title, 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, describes the creative process in my artmaking. Lately I have been taking once useful things that were noticed hanging around my studio waiting for their turn, and marrying them to art ideas. If the shoe fits the idea, and the idea fits the shoe, then I’ve nailed it."

Konrad Wendt is an artist living in Prince Edward Island. He studied art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) during much of its pioneering conceptual art moment (1967-71). His current practice reflects that early influence, enjoying the freedom of art-making in an expanded field without the gravitas.

Stop by This Town Is Small at 12:30 PM, Thursday, June 18th for a lunchtime guided walk-through of 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺, a new solo exhibition by Damien Worth!

Damien Worth will discuss the process of making this exhibition and what led him to create this work. Following the walk-through, there will be a brief demo on the process of making paper pulp - as well as painting techniques for highlighting the clay-like quality of the material.

𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 will be on display at This Town Is Small in The Arts Guild () from June 11 - July 25, 2026. We invite you to join us from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10th for the opening reception of this exhibition and of 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 by Konrad Wendt.

𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 is a series of artworks by Damien Worth that takes the artist's preoccupations with the body and his own experience with fluctuating health concerns and channels them into otherworldly, vulnerable, and sci-fi-esque creations built from discarded construction materials. 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 reflects on an inherent unruliness in the world, aiming to capture the tension between real and imagined spaces, monuments and ruins, and regeneration and mutation.

Damien Worth is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in rural Prince Edward Island/Epekwitk . A graduate of NSCADU, Worth’s interest in experimental approaches to art production are focused in the media of painting, sculpture, video, and installation. His work explores the tensions that exist between worlds; the dynamics of natural and manufactured sites, reality and fiction, and the perils of certainty. He has participated in various solo and group exhibitions in national and international venues and has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards. Worth has his work held in various private and public collections including the Confederation Centre Art Gallery permanent collection (PE), University of New Brunswick Art Centre permanent collection (NB),The Rooms provincial art bank (NL), The Prince Edward Island art bank (PE), and Global Affairs Art collection for embassies and consulate offices.
