This weekend we had to say goodbye to our sweet Rommie.
Many of you knew her as the little dog who greeted you at the door at Wildwood, wandered through the studio, or quietly curled up beside students during class. She had a gentle way about her and always seemed to know exactly who needed a little extra comfort.
For years, Rommie was part of the daily rhythm of Wildwood. In her younger days, she welcomed visitors, supervised art classes, and happily accepted endless pets and attention from our students. Over the last couple of years, age and mobility issues slowed her down, so she spent more time resting in the back, but she remained such a loved part of our family and studio.
On Friday, we learned she was experiencing heart failure, so we made the difficult decision to let her go peacefully.
She was nearly 14 years old and leaves behind a very quiet space here at Wildwood.
We know many of our students, families, and visitors loved her too, so we wanted to share the news and thank you for loving our sweet girl over the years.
We’ll miss her deeply.
