This is an example of some of the beautiful work that will be on the NewfoundlandLanding online shop. I will start with five of my favorite items per each vendor and then build as I go. The bottleneck in all of this is getting the photos online to coincide with the product information. Since I don’t have a team, and I’m doing it on my own, I apologize if the pictures aren’t perfect, some things won’t have information you require. I will add all of these things as I go. Please understand this is just my starting place and a lot will be improved on as I go. I’ve already gotten so much better with the barcoding and my one touch system. These lovely items are by Audrey’s Sewing.

🍂 FALL IS IN THE AIR AT THE NEWFOUNDLANDING 🍂

A seasonal update for our vendors, customers, and friends

Summer is always wonderfully busy here, but during the height of the season, many behind-the-scenes projects have to be put on hold.

Now that things are beginning to slow down a little, I’m getting back at it!

────────

📸 Vendor Photos & Promotion Are Coming Back!

I’ll be getting back to photographing and posting your beautiful products and sharing more of the amazing work we have in the shop.

Thank you for your patience while I catch up. As many of you know, THE NEWFOUNDLANDING is largely a one-woman show, with the help of my wonderful cleaner, part-time workers, and my absolutely amazing, though often absent in the busy times, husband!

────────

🧾 Our Store Is Starting Any Day Now!

I know we’ve fallen behind, and I truly appreciate your patience.

I’m still working on reconciling approximately 20% of our vendors and continuing to make progress so everything is accurate and up to date.

Thank you for your understanding as I work through the remaining details.

────────

🎁 Gift Cards Are Coming This Fall!

We’ll soon have both physical and virtual gift cards available, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

They’ll be a wonderful way to share a little piece of Newfoundland and Labrador with family and friends, wherever they may be.

────────

📦 Online Shopping & Shipping Across Canada

This fall, I’ll be putting a big push on getting our online products out there.

Our hope is to make more of our Newfoundland and Labrador-made products available to customers across the country, including those who are living away and missing home.

Please share our page with family and friends who may want something from Newfoundland to brighten their holidays!

────────

🎄 And Then… Christmas!

Once these projects are underway, we’ll be going all out getting THE NEWFOUNDLANDING ready for the Christmas season.

There’s lots to do, but we’re excited about what’s ahead!

────────

📣 A Note to Our Vendors

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BRING IN NEW PRODUCTS!

I can now barcode and enter new inventory much more quickly, so if you have:

• New work
• Fall products
• Christmas items
• Restocks of your regular products

Bring them along!

We’re excited to see what you’ve been creating and to help showcase more of your wonderful Newfoundland and Labrador-made products.

────────

💛 Thank You!

Thank you, as always, for being part of THE NEWFOUNDLANDING and for your patience, support, and understanding as I keep all of these moving parts going.

Here’s to a beautiful fall and an exciting season ahead! 🍁

One thing I’ve noticed this year, is there a such a need for an Uber sort of service for the East Coast Trail hikers. If they stay with me, I do my best to accommodate, but I can’t always. If there’s an entrepreneur out there looking for an idea, it might be something to consider.

There are people in my store today, visiting from Donegal, Ireland. They’re doing the Irish loop and then heading to St. John’s. They’ll be in the province for three weeks. They’re gonna follow this post if you’re feeling inclined post some places where they can hear Irish music along the way. They are heading south. Thanks in advance.

This is so exciting! I can’t wait! I loved sowing when I was young and I need a hobby! I haven’t done it for years and years.

How many of you have wanted to start quilting but you just can't figure out how to fire up the old sewing machine that you inherited from mom or nan? How many of you have started to sew, got tangled up in bobbin threads, cursed a little, and said "I guess I'm not gonna be a quilter today!" Or how many of you have just been too afraid to even touch the sewing machine because it intimidates you with all of its buttons, and noises, and sharp needles and speed?

If that is you and you are able to come in person to visit the Quilted Stash Studio in Horsechops, Cape Broyle, then you might want to consider signing up for one of our "Learn to Use My Sewing Machine" classes offered on September 23, 2026. There are morning, afternoon and evening sessions still available. In 2.5 hours, I'll teach you how to

-change the needle
-thread the needle
-wind a bobbin
-check tension
-use the different settings and functions as they relate to quilting
-choose which foot to use for the job (quarter inch foot, walking foot, free motion foot, applique foot, etc.)
-achieve an accurate quarter inch seam allowance
-clean and care for your machine
-and any other questions you may have.

Click the link (https://the-quilted-stash.myshopify.com/apps/events) to see the list of classes we are offering and to sign up. Remember, your spot is not confirmed until payment has been received. Thanks all for your support.
