Tomorrow! Saturday, October 3 the Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre and the Cambridge Fire Department team up to promote Fire Week™ October 4 -10, Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.

Help us spread the word that everyday actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires.

Use the cord and charger that came with your device or ones approved by the manufacturer. Using the wrong charger can damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat.

Use your charging superpower by making smart choices every time you plug in!

Monday, September 28 is Test Your Smoke Alarm Day! 🚨
Take a few minutes to test your smoke alarms and make sure they're working. Every home should have working smoke alarms on every level and outside all sleeping areas.

✅ Test each alarm using the test button
✅ Replace batteries as needed
✅ Check the age of your alarms and replace any that are 10 years old

Join us for Culture Days at the Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre on Saturdays, September 26 and October 3.

And while you're out and about exploring the community - look up and check out the details - on the amazing buildings in downtown Cambridge. Local architect Frederick Mellish designed many of the buildings including the Town of Galt Fire Hall - now the Fire Hall Museum.

And not to be outdone, you'll discover great buildings in the Preston and Hespeler core areas too!

CRACK THE CODE during Culture Days at the Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre - join us for Culture Days - a national celebration of arts, culture and creativity - on Saturdays, September 26 and October 3. If you can find all the clues hidden in the museum, you'll have some fun and Crack the Code to an important fire safety message. And when you're finished, we've got three different Scavenger Hunts available too!

It was an extraordinary day at the Museum as we greeted more than 760 visitors as part of Doors Open Waterloo Region. Over the course of the day we chatted with visitors from not only from across Waterloo Region, but from as far away as Russia, China, the US and various parts of Canada too. Thanks to all our volunteers who held things together and made the day a success.
