Brooks & District Museum

Brooks & District Museum Public museum, Visitor Information Centre and campground The museum is organized to be a “Walk through the ages”.

There are exhibits portraying the life of a rancher, the war years, the N.W.M.P., the Canadian Pacific Railroad and the Eastern Irrigation District. The museum also houses displays saluting the oil industry and early settlers, including the Fourth Duke of Sutherland and John Ware. On Canada Day, the Brooks and District Museum organizes a pancake breakfast with a teddy bear picnic and antique tract

or parade. This function is very well attended by residents of Brooks and the County of Newell. The museum also hosts tours throughout the year for schools, summer camps, nursing homes and other organizations.

The museum is currently closed to the public due to the construction of our new building. We will notify the public as soon as we are open again.

📅Summer is coming to an end, and starting in September,
the museum will be open Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Except for Saturday, September 12, when we will be open to celebrate our Fall Fair!

🔴September 12 will be the LAST DAY OF THE SEASON that our outside buildings will be open to the public.
